This one is more zoomed-in on the lake, and shows more of the surrounding trails and topo lines. Here’s a clip of Zac applying the map design to a tray form (while the piece is leatherhard), followed by me handpainting the lake with a blue glaze. This piece got loaded into yesterdays glaze firing, and it will be finished firing just in time for us to sand and bring to the @greenvillearms Winter Maker’s Market on Friday and Saturday this week!

Here’s a short video showing the process of mixing the ink, and printing the image onto a piece of newsprint. Eventually, the labels get transferred onto leatherhard pots. I’ve spent a lot of time hiking the Catskills si I’ve spent a lot of time hiking the Catskills since I moved to the Hudson Valley in 2011. Over the last 12 years, I can’t even count how many times I’ve been up Wittenberg and Plateau (to name a couple) but somehow I hadn’t finished hiking them all….until yesterday! There are 35 peaks in the Catskills that are over 3500’ in elevation. Yesterday, Zac and I bushwhacked North Dome and Sherill - the last two on my list! It’s really cool to be able to say that I’ve now hiked all 35. Really, the best part of this is the memories of doing these peaks with some really great friends over the years. Looking forward to lots more hiking in the years to come!

By now you’ve seen the Catskill Park piece that is installed in a bathroom in Woodstock, and the Hudson River kitchen backsplash that went up a couple weeks ago in Kingston. Last but not least, we just wrapped up this sweet Hudson River piece for a friend that is going to be installed above a bathroom sink. Shown in this video is the plastic guide that we use to transfer our map design onto the tiles, positioned next to the finished tiles themselves. Looking forward to seeing this last one installed!
